...at last...

I finally finished reading Breaking Dawn the other night. As expected, it ended with a happy note. For how many days I spent on the Twilight saga, from the very first book till the fourth one, I get to be familiar with the characters. There's one character among the vampire that stood out for me--Alice. Based on the Twilight movie, she was portrayed as very cool plus her hair is kind of cool too. ( For a brief interlude, I was thinking of cutting my hair like hers...) Anyway, I've had enough of vampires and werewolves to last me a lifetime. I'm still all for Harry Potter...

...why i like BONES...

Since I first watched this TV show, I knew right there and then that I will be hooked to it. I wait patiently for each new episode. I am drawn to the character of Dr. Temperance Brennan and here's why....
  • For some reason, Dr. Brennan's lack of "social skills" appeals to me..( maybe because I lack social skills too )
  • Dr. Brennan, addressed by her partner, Agent Booth, as BONES, is very smart and dedicated to her work and on top of that, she's very beautiful too for a forensic anthropologist...
  • She knows martial arts and she can kick ass...
  • I like the fact that she's not so hang-up on having relationships...
  • In some ways she likes Booth, I think she just don't realize it.

..same...

I haven't been writing on my blog for over a week now. Nothing seems to come up that's worth taking note of, and if there is, I can't seem to find the least bit of interest to put it into words...Anyway, I'm done reading the book, Eclipse. Same old vampire and then werewolf stuff. I'm almost halfway now of the fourth book, Breaking Dawn....

...lost in words....

I'm feeling a bit frustrated with myself right now. I have no other means to numb this sickening feeling so I turn to books, if only to ignore what it is I'm feeling at the moment. I'm in between books now. Suddenly, I developed this urge to read any book I can get my hands on. Luckily for me, there are books available. I finished reading the Twilight novel, I don't need to elaborate on this one, since most people are familiar with this book and the movie. At present, I'm almost halfway with the second book, New Moon. When I get to Chapter 4, I reluctantly stopped and I thought, I've had enough of vampires. I read another novel, a short one actually, it's entitled, The Shovel and the Loom by Carl Friedman. It's a far cry from the tale about vampires and what not. The novel dealt about Antisemitism and the protagonist's question about the existence of God and all. ( Talk about variety, huh.). I finished the book in just one day, well, not the entire day really, it's just about 168 pages and I read it in two settings. It serve as some sort of diversion from the vampire stuff. Somehow, it made me feel better. I'm back to New Moon again. I placed my bookmark on Chapter 13 and will get back to it later....

...Twilight hype...

My cousin got a complete set of hardbound copies of the Twilight saga along with other collectibles, a Director's Notebook, a special edition DVD, bookmarks, key chains and a 2010 calendar with posters of the entire cast. I started reading the novel after I watched the movie and I was not really into it so I stopped halfway and I told myself that I will just get back to it when I have the crave to read it again. But when my cousin show me all her stuff and upon laying my eyes on the shiny, new hardbound books, I have a complete change of heart. I am determined to finish reading the first book....I am looking forward to the next one, New Moon...it's just waiting for me.....

..eating out again...

Joy and me went out yesterday. She had some business to do at SM and as always, I tagged along. We agreed to have lunch there. We tried this restaurant, Tempura Japanese Grill at the North Wing. We ordered Tofu Furai, Gyoza, my favorite, Tempura, plain rice and some salad. Their house blend ice tea was very delicious and you can ask for refill, though I managed to consumed only one glass. All in all, it was a good meal..I got up satisfied..

..how much I got?...

Money is not really the root of all evil..just don't leave home without it. Like it or not, we always have the need for it. Money? If anyone ask me how much money I got right now, I wouldn't be ashamed to admit that I don't have have much, just some coins. I grew up not well-off. I remembered when I was a kid, whenever my grandmother gave me a twenty peso bill, I was ecstatic. I breezed through high school with only P 2.50 daily allowance and that was for a 2-way tricycle fare when I went home during lunch. Recess time was spent inside the classroom and I didn't mind it. I don't feel so upset when I don't have any extra bucks to spend until I have something I want really bad to buy and it sucks big time...

..to cook or not to cook?...( but then that is really not the question)...

I decided again to concoct one of the recipe I searched on the internet. ( lately, I've been veering away gradually from eating meat especially pork, I'm just not sure what I'm gonna do if a nice, yummy grilled pork chop will be placed in front me....). The main ingredients of the recipe was broccoli and tofu and to be perfectly sure, I even had the copy of the recipe nearby and I was glancing to it from time to time. What I did not anticipate was that I forgot to adjust the measurements as indicated in the recipe since I was only cooking for one. As it turn out, the end-result looked like a lumpy mixture of tofu and broccoli with dark globs of the garlic sauce. I overdid everything. It was palatable though besides I had no choice since it was my lunch. Note to myself: use common sense next time. Since cooking entailed a lot of dish washing afterward, it is for this reason that I'm not so much into it unless I'm in the mood to do the dishes. Still, I'm a foodie..whenever you have anything to be tasted or better else something to share to eat..then call me anytime....:-)

...Mick got me....

I intend to wake up late on weekends, but this morning was an exception. I was already up at around 5 AM and I was not able to go back to sleep anymore. With my lights still off, I just decided to lounge around in bed and switched on the TV. I catch an episode of my new favorite TV series, Moonlight and as always there was Mick St. John. He is really cool..you can never tell that Mick is a vampire unless he is provoked into baring his fangs or until you see him drink a glass of blood..as if it's wine...but even for that..he still look gorgeous for a vampire. Edward Cullen pales in comparison to him. No offense intended to all the "Edward Cullen" fanatics out there....

..the most notable vampires..( at least to me, anyway)...

After two failed attempts to watch the movie Twilight without falling asleep, I was finally able to stay put and watch it until the credits roll. And I wondered why it created so much hype, I mean, the movie was not even that good. The only satisfactory thing I can comment on it was the great background scenery, aside from that, nothing else. I did not even finished reading the book...I know I can't speak for everyone else...I believe there's only a small number of folks out there who has not join the mania about "Edward and Bella"...Come to think of it, I don't even understand why "Edward" is even called a vampire in the first place...

I am all for vampires and here are some of my most noteworthy that was ever created....

1. Louis de Pointe du Lac
Who could forget Louis, the hero in the movie, Interview with the Vampire....
2. Lestat de Lioncourt
The villain you love not to hate.....
3. Selene
The ass-kicking beautiful lady from the Underworld...
4. Viktor
Another vampire villain you may want to take side with....
5. Mick St. John
Tall, dark and....immortal.....( from the TV series, Moonlight )

P.S. And I don't think they put on a lot of heavy make-up on their face just to come across as a "vampire"...What they had was subtlety....

...bonding and good eats...

After enduring the brushoff accorded to me by my friend for coming home late, thankfully, I am back again at her good side. We went out the next day and just spend some time together. We had fun taking turns in posing with our favorite stuff toy, Winnie the Pooh while we took some pictures. After a considerable time of roaming around the mall, we felt hungry and decided to go to Shakeys. I ordered my favorite Creamy Mushroom Soup, it was quite filling. We also agreed on ordering some salad, which I was hesitant at first since I'm not really into veggies but eventually I gave in. We settled on Mandarin Salad and a Seafood Marinara. For our drinks, we both had Coke Light. For someone like me who don't like eating vegetables, the salad we ordered was a hit. After our sumptuous meal, we headed out again and join the melee of people that's always in the mall going about their business or whatever it is that brought them there. I can only take so much of the state the mall was in that day...the vast throng of people hurrying about on their way, the unintelligible noise and what not. Indeed, it can be chaotic. Before we finally call it a day, we headed again to Shakeys to have our dinner. This time we ordered the Chef's Choice Salad, Mojos n' Dip and some soup. I tried the Chicken n' Corn Soup but it was not that satisfactory to my liking. All in all, I felt contented and well-fed...and happy.

..love at first sight...

This is what most people say when they meet someone for the first time whom they feel an instant connection at once. As if they're just waiting for it to happen then they convinced themselves that they're in love..."love at first sight"...( think? think? )..I'm not sure if I believe in it. Maybe when I get to experience it..so far no one has caught my fancy let alone fall in love with and vice versa. Besides, "love at first sight" is a pretty obscure stuff for me and I don't think I am up for it. This catchy phrase is good only in the movies in my opinion, where happy endings are always bound to happen...
